WINTER RECREATION IN THE GREENBELT

The Greenbelt Foundation is dedicated to promoting and sustaining the Greenbelt to enhance the quality of life for all residents in Ontario. Promoting outdoor recreation is a big part of that. In the summer, people flock to trail systems and green spaces to enjoy those outdoor recreation opportunities, but in the winter fewer people get outside. We worked with the Greenbelt Foundation to champion the voices of those who get outside no matter the weather in order to encourage year-round connection with nature.

IMPACT GOAL

Providing opportunity for outdoor recreation to those living in Ontario is one of the primary goals of the Greenbelt Foundation. In the summer people hop on their bikes, enter the trails, set up their tents and thoroughly enjoy the outdoor recreation opportunities. Generally less people brave the winter conditions. Our goal was to encourage people to get outside in the winter and connect with their local greenspace.

OUR SOLUTION

Providing opportunity for outdoor recreation to those living in Ontario is one of the primary goals of the Greenbelt Foundation. In the summer people hop on their bikes, enter the trails, set up their tents and thoroughly enjoy the outdoor recreation opportunities. Generally less people brave the winter conditions. Our goal was to encourage people to get outside in the winter and connect with their local greenspace.

CREATIVE APPROACH

We instantly connected with two people that we knew were passionate about outdoor recreation in the winter and had the ability to encourage and inspire others to get outside. From there we developed two character-driven short films to connect audiences through the personal stories of our champions. A photo deck was developed from each shoot so that the Greenbelt Foundation could encourage winter participation on their social media platforms on an ongoing basis.
